kevinp
hello! i am currently tracing hand drawn drawings in vectorworks by importing tiff files. I have some window and door schedules to do (for those not familair, basically a huge table of numbers and descriptions) Is there an easy way to create a table in vectorworks, so the end product looks neat. Manually putting in all the numbers and text will result in a messy drawing. Or is it possible to import something created in a program such as excel? Any help would be appreciated Thanks KEV P Quote Link to comment
CreativeConners
You could use a worksheet in Vectorworks. From the Resources pallete click "New" Select "Worksheet" Enter the table info just as you would in Excel. To get it to appear on the drawing, select the worksheet in the Resources pallete and check the box "On Dwg". Quote Link to comment
jan15
Or you could create a text entity, perhaps consisting of just a hyphen, and set its horizontal and vertical alignment to "center", and then rectangular-array it, perhaps inside a group. Then use the Text tool to change each hyphen to the data for that box. That makes a very neat table that's easy to control. For example, adjust column width by grabbing whole columns and moving them over. Quote Link to comment
