update to VW10.1

Recommended Posts

Trying to update to VW 10.1.0 :

While updating most computers in the office will get the information of the machine, like user name, company, and serial number.

One computer will not get the information for the program.

This is some kind of operating system problem?

Do you know what files drive the installation update

for a Mac OS 9.2? or is there another installation method available?

This machine also had no problem updating to 10.0.1 (the first update)

Katerina,

The first thing to check is to make sure the Vw 10.0.1 is actually VW 10.0.1.

Go to File Get Information when selecting the VW application in the VW 10 0 1 folder.

If this still says Vw 10.0.0, then the 10.1. updater will not work.

If it does say Vw 10.0.1, make sure the VW 10.1 updater is pointed to the exact (correct) location of the VW 10 0 1 folder.

If the updater is not pointed to the VW 10.0.1 folder correctly, the updater cannot find the files to copy and update.

The default update locater will assume hard disk:VectorWorks 10.0.1. If this is not where VW 10.0.1 is installed to (or was moved to), make sure the updater is pointed to it.

Thank you Katie for your quick response and help.

The proper updates were installed.

I used your instruction by manually selecting the folder. This worked.

I think the problem is the operating system, as it could not find the folder on its own? We have a computer consultant that keeps trying to recreate the computer, and he is inconsistent with his settings.

Thank you for your valued time.

Katerina,

We get this problem at least 2 times a day while people catch up on updates.

It's a common misunderstanding of the instructions.

I'm glad you were able to get it to install!!
