Stazzie89
Hi! So I am using a student copy of Vectorworks 2015 on both my Desktop and Laptop (both using windows 8). I usually have zero issues with file transferring between the two...until tonight when weird phenomenon occurred. I have drawn a file on my PC, copied onto a usb, copied onto my laptop to continue work. Opened the file --> clicked into design layers and a script error occurred. "Line #24 ect ect compile stopped by command period" image in link below http://i.imgur.com/DVU3WJH.png I tried rewriting the file to my usb, opened fine on PC however same error occurs back on laptop. I reinstalled vectorworks (rewrite, not complete uninstall) I got a new error message. this time upon only launching the program (not attempting to open any files or click into anything) "Line #19 ect ect compile stopped by command period" (kind of sounds like the same error) http://i.imgur.com/XNZr3VT.png I completely uninstalled VW and reinstalled it. It now seems to be working okay. I am however sceptical. Does anyone know what might have caused this to happen? I'd like to avoid it occurring again. Thanks!! Anastassia Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted May 19, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 19, 2015 I have seen that happen on occasion after many many transfers of a file, but I'm talking hundreds, the file was over 8 years old. It is normally the file itself that has the issue, but I have not seen a loss of data occur from it, (just the irritating error and a feeling of dread, which are legitimate concerns) I have seen it corrected in the past by importing all of the layers into a new document: http://kbase.vectorworks.net/questions/790/Layer+Import However, the above process loses your sheet layers, so its up to you as to whether you want to attempt the procedure or not. I really wouldn't suspect further problems. Quote Link to comment
