NikiHooper
Hi all We have recently upgraded to Vectowkrs 2015 and myself and one other user are having problems with saving drawings. We normally use cmd-s to save while working and this would normally autosave, however since the upgrade when we do this we are now getting the 'save Vectorworks drawing' dialogue box - like what you get when its a new drawing, but this isn't. I'm also getting the '5 minutes have elapsed....' dialogue box too but i have already set my settings to do this without me confirming each time. Any help/suggestions would be very welcome! Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 23, 2015 If you use CMD-S to save, then name it and allow it to save, then immediately use CMD-S again, does it always ask the same thing upon saving? Or is this sporadic throughout the day? Quote Link to comment
NikiHooper
Hi Jim Thanks for the quick response. Its sporadic throughout the day, seems every time i try and show someone in the office what I mean it wont actually do it! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 23, 2015 Do you have your file saved locally, or is it saved over the network on a server/NAS/networked machine? Quote Link to comment
NikiHooper
All of our drawings are saved onto a main server. Didn't have this problem when on Vectorworks 2014 and still on Yosemite. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 23, 2015 Try saving one of your files locally and working on that throughout the day to see if the same issue recurs. Quote Link to comment
NikiHooper
That seems to work, so I guess this means a problem with our server? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted March 23, 2015 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted March 23, 2015 We haven't narrowed it down for sure yet, on our servers we cant replicate the issue but there are definitely many other users that did not have any issues with their workflow in 2014 that are seeing problems like this in 2015. There is an issue in there somewhere, still working to nail it down to a specific set (or sets) of circumstances. Quote Link to comment
NikiHooper
Ok thank you, appreciate the help. Would be good to get a resolution as working off my desktop is dangerous if someone else starts working on the file on the server and then i override it later with my file. Quote Link to comment
genie
I have experienced the same issue with VW 2015. I noticed though the issue arose if I hit cmd+S too quickly one after another. Once I stopped doing that, I could do cmd+S without the dialogue box popping up. Quote Link to comment
