PDF's exported as RGB or CMYK?

I'm having various issues with colour (especially transparent fills)not coming out as expected, either as a PDF viewed on screen or printed.

I'm wondering if part of the issue is an RGB vs CYMK profile?

Does vw work in RGB or CYMK? Does it export to PDF as RGB or CYMK? There doesn't seem to be a way to select a particular profile.

Any suggestions?

You can enter either RGB values or CMYK values in Vectorworks, but eventually everything is converted to RGB.

As for the PDFs, I am able to see both sets of info when I check their properties, I am not super familiar with color systems, but as far as I know there are equivalents for both and most applications let you enter/extract either.
