I have always used double-click or Enter. Testing now, this appears to be the same behavior in Vectorworks 2014. Quote Link to comment

My situation is: If the chain-dimension is still active and I don't have a new point to hit, and I want to end it... how do you do that? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted December 10, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted December 10, 2014 If you forget to doubleclick the last point, you can press Delete to step back one click and place the cursor in the desired location, then Enter or double click to complete. This works with most multi-click tools like Walls or Polygons as well. Quote Link to comment

But no if you have the cursor floating away from that point it will attempt to create another one upon hitting Enter or double clicking. Quote Link to comment
