Cadplan Architecture Posted April 22, 2014 Share Posted April 22, 2014 I'm learning to use the roof tools in VW2011. I'm trying to draw a roof from four walls which form a rectangular garage. The axis defaults to the longer dimension. Is there a way to select the shorter dimension as the axis? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee PVA - Admin Posted April 22, 2014 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted April 22, 2014 You should be able to click the control handles along the straight edges of the roof and specify whether that end should be a gable end or not. Switching all 4 edges to the opposite setting should change which way the ridge is aligned. This may explain it in more detail, towards 1:12: Quote Link to comment

I also found a useful You Tube clip pertaining to roof faces, I haven't yet managed to extend connect the roof faces as the clip shows but the push pull tool works well enough to get around that Quote Link to comment
