3x3x3
i'm running into an issue with several drawing files. after creating a variety of classes and then modeling an item, whenever i try to go back and change the class style (for the fill or line weight for example) it hangs the program up indefinitely. is this normal, or am i missing something (or both)? thanks. g4 ibook, 800mhz, 640mb ram, vw11.5, os 10.4 Quote Link to comment
Kaare Baekgaard
Indefinately is not normal. But I have experienced long waiting times, when the program updates a large number of drawing objects to new class setings. Longest for changes in line and fill styles, shorter for changes in textures. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Yes, the amount of time depends on the number of memory addresses. The entire object database is searched for the Class criteria associations then the specified changes are written out to memory. This is a complex and lengthy process and should be avoided when possible especially with larger complex file structures. But if it must be done ... be very patient ... do not interrrupt the sucker ! Go have lunch or sex or something ... Quote Link to comment
3x3x3
i guess this is a good lesson in doing things right the first time... i'll try a work around- namely creating a new layer with the correct attributes and then moving the objects to that one. then deleting the old one... thanks for the replies.
