cliff m
We run Vectoreworks on a school network (Novell), using Win 2000, VW8.5. The students have their drive access restricted in their login scipt so they are unable to access C:\ drive, although they can save to a partition (D:\).All their project files are saved on a network drive. Vectorworks lately has begun to load slowly - up to 5 mins for the program, and opening one of the work in progress files can take up to three minutes for a simple default file. This only occurs when logging on as student. I log on as teacher with substantial network rights and the program loading and file loading is good. Where is the bottleneck that is causing the program to run like a crippled snail? Quote Link to comment
Matthew Giampapa
Cliff, VectorWorks was not meant to be run from a network volume. We do a lot of small file i/o dealing with the plug in objects. Matthew GiampapaNNA Technical Support Quote Link to comment
