BiikeMike
So I have these triangles with cutouts on the bottom. I drew them as 2D Polygons, extruded them and converted them to 3D Polys. I also drew a 3D Polygon to see if the same thing would happen, and it still didn't work right. When I render in Open GL, they render correctly, but my lighting and lecterns are not there. When I render in Renderworks, everything else looks right, but the triangles render as full triangles. They are supposed to look more like Star Trek symbols. Any ideas why this may be happening? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
Why convert them to 3D polys? This could affect the way they render. Don't know if lights show correctly in OpenGL generally at all!? Quote Link to comment
BiikeMike
I just converted it because I didn't know what else to do, honestly. I thought after I extruded it it should take the texture and render correctly, but it doesn't. Quote Link to comment
cad@sggsa
Hi Lighting will not show in OpenGL. The lecturns might be on a class that is set not to render in OpenGL. Have you tried to redraw the Startrek looking Symbol? You mentioned you applied a texture to the extrudes and it was not correct, did you try edit how the texture is applied to the surface? Set the scale or duplicate Horizontal/Vertically? Change it from plane to perimeter (visa/versa)? also editing the actual texture attributes? reflectivity etc Quote Link to comment
