Horizontal Reveal in Wall

Is there a way to create continuous horizontal reveals in walls? I have tried wall recesses and 3D hole components without success.

Create a symbol and in the 3D wall hole component, draw the 3D object that you want to cut out of the wall.

In the 2D compontent, use 2 loci on top of each other to find the symbol in the wall.

Should the original symbol be 2D or 3D?

Place 2 2D loci directly on top of each other in plan view? How does that help "find" (do you mean "place"?) the symbol in the wall?

Should the loci be 3D loci?

The 3D wall hole component will cut a horizontal channel in the face of the wall without cutting all the way through?

Can the reveal channel cut across door and windows in the wall?

Should the symbol in wall placement option be set to "on edge"?

You need the 2 2D loci, all other 2D and 3D things are optional.

The 2D loci in the symbol should be on top of each other, so they should be in the same location.

When the symbol is placed in the wall, you will see the loci's and you can drag the symbol by them along the wall.

You can define the wall hole component you want, it can even go further than the wall itself, something you can't do with wall recesses.

The reveal will not cut through doors or windows, only the wall.

You can choose the symbol wall placement to anything you like.

Thanks again. I still have not been able to get this to work. When the hole cutting channel cuts the end of the wall the plug-in windows go crazy. I ended up using an extrude along path and cutting out the doors and windows.
