ionw
I have noticed that as the day wears on VW gets slower and slower, If I quit and restart, it speeds back up. Any ideas? Thanks, Ion Webster Quote Link to comment
Matthew Giampapa
Well Windows 95/95/ME and to some extent the Classic Mac OS will do this because of poor resource management and memory fragmentation. There are some utilities out there you can get to help prevent this such as "FreeMem Pro" for windows, "MacOS Purge" for the Classic MacOS, and "TurboMem" for MacOS X. It frequently boils down to design issues with the OS. Which is why more modern OS' like Windows NT/2k/XP and MacOS X don't show this as often. ionw
Hi Matthew, I should have put this in the original post, but I am noticing it More in OS X 10.1.3 than in OS 9.2.2 Maybe it is because in OS 9 VW has 500 megs allocated so it isn't having to allocate more as it goes...?
