Keeps Crashing

I am a new user. i downloaded the full student version of 2011

i went through the manual and drafted a theatre and soft goods with no problem.

With my light plot layer I can enter the battons and put about 15 lights on the plot. Then it freezes and says vectorworks has stopped working and closes the program every time.

I have tried many different fixes but cannot get it to work.

Also I am unable to log on to the server to check for updates.

I am thinking i should uninstall the program and re install it, but i figured I should check here first.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sure Im using a toshiba Pentium dual core 4400 2.2 ghz

windows 7 64 bit and its the full student version of vectorworks

I got the laptop about a year ago.

I spoke to a friend who offered to give me a copy of an older version of vectorworks he is using that seems to be stable but i would ratrher try to fix this if i could instead.
