Robert Menapace
Is it possible to have one object remain in place and have the remaining objects move into alignment with it? For example, if the center option is chosen, the way the align/distribute tool seems to work is that all of the objects move to the centerline of the total overall outside dimension of the objects selected. If this can't be done with the align/distribute tool,is there another tool or procedure that will accomplish this? I have used a CAD program that allows you to select which object the others will align to, as well as which point--left, right, or center--on the stationary object they align to. AndyM
You can lock the object you want to stay stationary. I have assigned a keyboard shortcut to make locking and unlocking objects easier. You can also place a locus at the point you want everything else to line up to. The locus will stay stationary and everyhting else will align to the locus. Quote Link to comment
