RickS - Lab 8
We just installed 2011 and are having some installation issues. When we first installed it, tried to put it in the Programs folder of a Windows & x64 Machine. It appeared to install ok, but it wont run from that location. Moved it to the Programs (x86) folder and it runs, but it is very slow? Tried to reinstall a couple times without any luck. This only happened on one of our machines, so dont know it is a hardware issue or not? Have VW 2010 installed in the Programs folder without any problems. Also having various issues, hanging up when exiting or opening files. Takes forever to print to PDF. Etc. These are happening on two difference machines, so dont think these are installation issue. Any help? Quote Link to comment
Guest jkelly
You should not force the installation into a non-standard location on 64-bit Windows. Since Vectorworks is 32-bit, Windows does emulation to allow it to run on a 64-bit version of Windows. This can involve changing directory names requested by the software. As far as the performance issues, I don't know much about that, perhaps someone else can speak to that issue. Quote Link to comment
RickS - Lab 8
Thanks for the info. It is just odd that we can install 2010 in the Programs folders and 2011 will not run from there. Also, since it installed there ok on another machine, just seemed strange. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Try switching users. You may have a corrupted user. Quote Link to comment
