Does Auto Drawing Coordination do what I need?

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping that someone out there who has used the automatic drawing coordination feature in Designer 2010 can answer this question for me (which will be the deciding factor in whether or not I upgrade from 2009).

I saw the video for the new auto coordination feature when it came out for 2010, but the example shows the feature in action in the context of a section viewport looking at a model. Are the auto coordination features also available for run of the mill viewports? Can I create a viewport, then create a reference marker seperately, and have them automatically coordinate when that viewport moves to a new sheet or gets a new drawing number?

If anyone has experience with this, I'd really appreciate it. And if this information is available in KnowledgeBase somewhere a link would be appreciated. I have searched in vain.
