We've always included window & door IDs in the elevation views of our permit & construction drawings (great reference for clients, contractors, and window vendors alike), and coordinating tags between plan and elevation views has always been a chore -- a real BIM program should do this! If I've gone through the trouble of building a 3D model with all relevant data already attached to its parametric components, and I then still have to go through the chore of coordinating tags manually, something is seriously wrong.
