Guest BillV
Apart from VW script is there any way to "animate' two 3D solids. What I am looking at is a spur gear being turned to move a spur gear rack (or similar) If this is not available now what are the chances of it becoming available in the future given that Solidworks can do this. Pat Stanford
I believe/hope that VW2010 will have a new feature referred to a "parametric constraints". This will allow you to indicate that parts of 3D object must maintain some geometric ratio (coincident, offset, certain spacing, etc.). (Yes, I know we currently have 2D parametric constraints. Very few people are using them other than for associated dimensions). If this comes true, then the ability to "animate" probably is not too far behind. Until then, you might want to take a look at Animationworks by Julian Carr. It has the ability to produce movie files showing animation from Vectorworks files. http://www.ozcad.com.au/otherproducts/vwaddonsAW.html Quote Link to comment
