cwailes
I have a question about fonts. If I type text and select a custom font like "architect", it previews in that font while I am typing. However, when I hit enter to finish it defaults/previews in arial, why? is there a setting to tell fonts to preview one way and print another? Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Font selection requires a procedural command in order to link the SystemFontID to the text character codes you type. Therefore, you must select the Font prior to selection of the TextTool ( which queries the active FontID ) , or you can simply type the text using the default Font , then selct the Text and tell the FontID to change by selecting the preferred Font from the Font Menu or the OIP. Once you active the TextTool it defaults to the "active" Font for the time that the Tool is active. The Default Font is... simply... the SystemFontID which is active prior to the selection of the TextTool. Quote Link to comment
cwailes
So will the font print in the font I select? I tried setting the font before I selected the type tool and it does show correctly while I am typing, but when I hit enter it shows arial. Quote Link to comment
brudgers
I recently went through problems with fonts. It was a case of a ill-formed font file not a problem with Vectorworks. You might try cross checking the font in other applications and see if you encounter problems. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
You may need to delete & rebuild the Font Cache using Font Cache Cleaner, Font Finagler or Onxy. Use Font Book to validate the Fonts. Quote Link to comment
