mpkeane
I am working on a Mac PowerBook, using OS 10.4.11, with VW Designer (Educational Version) 12.5.1. I have made a number of custom adjustments to one file: 1) I have added custom IDs and various specifications to plant symbols, 2) made a custom Title Block, 3) made a custom Hatch design. How can I transfer these customizations to another file so I don't need to redo the whole process with each new file? Marc Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
The best method would be to make your custom file a template and use that to start new drawings instead of using a new file. Quote Link to comment
mpkeane
Thanks for the hint Ray. I tried saving the file as a template (File>Save as Template) but was surprised with the result. I thought that I would end up with just the skeleton without data, but found an exact copy of the original. So, I have to go into each layer and erase everything? If that's the case, what's the difference between saving as a template and just saving a copy? Marc Quote Link to comment
brudgers
The difference is how Files--->New works. A template can be used with this command. I recommend erasing anything that you don't want in your other drawings before saving the file as a template. Quote Link to comment
