Timmeah
Hi, I am trying to help a user who is modifying an existing workspace in Vectorworks and is receiving an error. It refers "problem creating workspace file" and talks about the folder being available etc. The user has local admin rights and specifically for the workspaces folder. I note that the folder appears as read only, however not sure why it keeps changing... Any help would be appreciated. Try on another PC and works fine. PLease help Tim Quote Link to comment
Douglas808
Hello, I just started getting this. I can not edit the current workspace. Did you fix this issue? I am currently searching through threads to see if there is a solution. TIA Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Welcome to the list. Please create a signature with your version of Vectorworks and computer specs including OS version. This will make it possible to help. Quote Link to comment
Douglas808
Is this enough information? Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
Perfect, thanks. You may have a corrupt workspace. Are you able to edit other workspaces? If so you will most likely to have to rebuild your workspace from one of the stock ones. It's a good habit to backup your workspace regularly along with your files. Quote Link to comment
Ray Libby
One more thought, when you right click on the workspace file is it read only? Quote Link to comment
Douglas808
No, I cannot edit any stock workspace. I cannot even create a new workspace. And no, the files are not marked read-only. Quote Link to comment
Douglas808
Well, OK. Bizarreo stuff. I am setting up my new laptop and had to install VW on it. I had 12.5.2 on old laptop. When I installed on new laptop, I upgraded with the 12.0 to 12.5.3 upgrade program and I was afraid of migrating workspaces and such. I don't know why. I did so, and it seems to be OK now. Thanks.
