islandmon Posted October 1, 2007 Share Posted October 1, 2007 This issue has nothing at all to do with your installed version of VW. Applications query the System Fonts ( OSX > Applications>Font Book ) and load them based on their OS assigned ID# ( sometimes there can be conflicts between names & numbers ) . If you desire to have an Italic font { Arial Italic in the example posted } then you must install one via the system then restart VW to acknowledge it. Printer Drivers are also applications which use various PS&PDF procedures to create the raster printimage. The big difference here is that the OS knows how to manipulate the fonts for various display requirements like Bold and Italic whereas the PDF printer drivers may not have this dynamic ability... requiring , instead, the 'pure' embed-able fonts necessary for correct spacing, kerning, leading, justifying, etc. Quote Link to comment
