Split tool improvement

I almost never use the split tool by line because I usually want to split specific objects along an existing line. When I use the existing line to draw the "split" line it turns my line into a messed up polygon.

Why can't VW have an option to only "split" or modify objects that are selected. You could select the objects to split and not the line - then the line is not modified...

I know there are workarounds but they are frustrating and slow.

There is an option for that:

Line Split Mode

The Line Split mode splits 2D objects, NURBS curves/surfaces, solids, and viewports along a cutting line. After the split, all the objects remain on the drawing.

To split only the selected object, press the Alt (Windows) or Option (Macintosh) key while drawing the split line.
