don
I was in a file and just changed the workspace from classic to landmark classic then to landmark when it crashed. When i try to open Vectorworks an error message comes up Vectorworks application has encountered an error and needs to close. When I ran an error report through microsoft it said that the problem was caused by quicktime. Has anyone run into this? Quote Link to comment
Guest
This is a situation where the workspace became corrupt. Remove the offending workspace and copy over a good one in the workspace backup folder. Also, update to 12.5.1 to reduce the frequency of this problem. Quote Link to comment

G_Hannigan
Don, Navigate to the Workspace folder in the VW program folder. Remove the workspace & see if VW will start. George Quote Link to comment

don
George and Katie: Thanks for the replies but my Vectorworks File 12.5.0 on the desktop is empty. Do I need to reinstall or can I upgrade and the upgrade will fix the problem? thanks again] Don Quote Link to comment
Guest
You should have a folder in the Program Files folder called VectorWorks 12.x. In there is a workspaces folder. Delete the landmark workspace. You should also see a backup workspace folder. Copy the Landmark workspace from that folder to the workspaces folder. If you don't have a folder in Program Files, then you may want to do a search for the VectorWorks folder. If you are at a school or other place where your user account may have strict access, you'll need to contact your IT department. Quote Link to comment
don
Thank you very much, that worked!! I think the tech forum is a great tool. I have frequent questions that others have quick answers to. That is a feature of Vectorworks that I really like. thanks again Quote Link to comment
