MOLLYK
I'm trying to insert doors into walls using VW12 and they are automatically changing properties that I haven't set and when I try to put them in the proper class and give them the lineweight and color I want, different components will change, but others will stay the same. Also, is there a way I can change the door sweep from going to a default class of 'sills'? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 23, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 23, 2006 There are sub-components of doors (and windows) that necessarily must be sub-classed, and it is this subclassing that you are seeing. The "Sills" class is a class that holds all parts of doors and windows that are visible in floor plan but not in ceiling plan, so just leave it on for your floor plans. What is it you are trying to do? Quote Link to comment
MOLLYK
Thanks for the clarification on the sills class. I'll just remember to keep that on. When I insert a door into a wall it will automatically change properties. It will assign it's own color and lineweight if I use the door preferences dialog box. If I don't use the dialog box and just insert the door, it will keep the settings I have in the object properties, but as soon as I flip the swing, change the settings or try to change the class, it automatically changes to it's own lineweight and color. Neither of which are the proterties of the 'sills' class or my door class. One other question- is there a way I can universally select and change properties of more than one door or window at a time? Vectorworks, Inc Employee Robert Anderson Posted May 24, 2006 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted May 24, 2006 Look to see if the class that you have the wall set to has enabled graphic attributes (the "Use at creation" checkbox in the Edit Class dialog.) Try unchecking this box. Quote Link to comment
MOLLYK
I looked and that box is already unchecked. Quote Link to comment
