Hunter B
OK... so what's up with this issue.... I use the seating layout tool. It works OK. I have 8 different seating sections. As I try to click from one section of seating to the other so I can get the O.I. of the seating section VW 10.1 Freezes... IT LITERALLY CAN TAKE UP TO THREE MINUTES TO CLICK FROM ONE SECTION TO THE OTHER. It takes me 30 Minutes to do a couple of simple changes to the layout because of the time it takes just to switch sections....HELP!!! What can I do to speed this process up? This is a cool tool but I can Duplicate an array faster than this tool works. Quote Link to comment
Guest
Do you have "draw Layout Lines" check marked in the OIP? This will only display the 2d locus for each chair. Without this checked, all the 2d chair definitons are drawn. If you have large and numerous chairs in the layout, it's going to take a good time to click between layouts. Having the Draw Layout Lines cheked, it cuts back on the redraw time needed to select and display in some cases all the chair defintions. It is even more time consuming wiht this option not checked and working in a 3d mode. There, all of the 3d data, which is much more intricate than 2d data, takes longer to select and display. Hunter B
WHEW! This works great!!!!YOU'RE A GODDESS!!! THANK YOU!!! If I convert the seating block to a symbol, will it help?? Quote Link to comment
Guest
That kind of defeats the purpose. That's like converting a lighting instrument to a symbol. Once it's a symbol, you can't edit parameters and change settings thru the OIP. You have to go in and edit the symbol to change the parameters. Besides, the seating layout has a 2d and 3d view. You would have to select the 2d view and 3d view - meaning make duplicates of the seating layout - to get a hybrid symbol. Then, when you want to edit anything in the layout - you've gotta go in and edit the 2d and 3d portion. Much easier to just turn that check mark box on and off and let the object type be.
