OIP suggestions

Ariel

Question

Not sure if this is already in the wishlist or is available in VW10 but couldn't the OIP show as well the actual text shown in a selected text or dimension object? This would be a timesaving feature to avoid having to zoom in to check if the text or dimensions are written correctly.

In VW10 the OIP displays the dimension value in the "Length" field. You can even enter a specific value to change the dimension in the same field. As far as text showing in the OIP I don't know if this is feasible. A large text block will not fit anywhere in the OIP.

You may want to take a look at Julian Carr's

"VW essentials" which includes a tool called

"edit text block by dialogue". It brings up the selected text block in a dialog window to be edited or viewed.

You can change what the dimension reads.

Draw the dimension or select one.

Go to the OIP.

Where it says leader or trailer -- you can enter text in either of those.

THen remove the checkmark box from "Show Dim Value".

Whatever is typed in leader or trailer will show as the dimension.

Futhermore, if you would like to append information to the dimension, you can enter additional text in leader to show before the dimension, or text in trailer to show information behind a dimension. Leave the check mark next to "Show Dim Value" so the dimension is still on the screen as well.
