How to implement Boomerang Selection in a tool

With the SDK I can activate 'Boomerang Selection' this way, but I cannot find nothing similar in Vectorworks VS:Function Reference.

As far as I know, there is no good way to do any real user interactive stuff in Python, other than dialogue boxes. It's been explained that the way python is implemented it doesn't wait for user input.

thanks Juelien, I was hoping that there was a magic function that would allow to implement the boomerang selection. Even if it was with vectorscript instead of python.
