mchase
I have a bunch of old MC4 files that I would like to open in VW9. How do I do that? Quote Link to comment
0 CipesDesign
I've been there. If I remember correctly I was able to open the MC 4 files in VW 8 and then convert the 8's to 9's. There may be another step as well (another version) but I don't remember. PLC Quote Link to comment
0 mchase
hmmm....That would be really helpful IF I had VW8. I am an old MiniCAD4 user, switched to AutoCAD 2000, and now switched VectorWorks9. I don't have any previous versions. Is there any other way to get these files converted? Quote Link to comment
0 CipesDesign
You need to call NNA (formerly diehl graphsoft) and ask them. There is maybe one other way, but probably not recommended: export all the old files to dxf then import them to 9. This might work but it will be sloppy and very time consuming... 0 Matthew Giampapa
mchase, We don't check this part of the message board with any regularity, questions like this should be in the General section... Yes, you will need an intermediate version of VectorWorks to translate your files. You should call our sales department at 1-888-646-4223, and they will issue you a free copy of VectorWorks for the purpose of converting your files. Alternatively, if you just have a few files to convert, you can email them to tech@nemetschek.net and we will convert them for you. Matthew GiampapaNNA Technical Support Quote Link to comment
