Sorry, I left out that when auto join walls is turned on, I have all kinds of wall joining problems. When I turned it off I had no wall join problems.

I have VW 12.5 and spent many, many hours with what sounds like the same wall problem. Check to see if your auto join walls is turned on in preferences under the vectorwork title bar. That solved my problems.
