i guess you have to go to view, and activate unified view.... and make your settings as if you want to display screen layer objects otherwise if you draw a screen object it disapears instantly...

happens here too on some files very strange...out of the blue!! any news here? my files are saved to a folder already...? but even when the error occures i can save...so i really don't know what happens...!:-(((

i tried to save back before, but it does not work at all... after i import i try "select all" but there is no object activated.. very strange! as it works with all other SU files i used so far!

thanks Mitch! I am aware of the settings but wondering that open GL is somehow vectorbased and all fine at a designlayer. Does it lose the "vectorskills" on a viewport? So it's all pixel resolution on a VP rendering, but if i insert lines in an annotation its vectors. as i can see on an PDF export. so may be its a whishlist topic... Because if i set the resolution of an VP to 600dpi rendertimes are getting through the roof.

i draw renders in openGL on my designlayer. All looks fine edges are smooth as it schould be with a vector... than i create a viewport and all edges pixalate even increasing my viewport resolution settings to 300dpi stil pixels visable. Does anyone having an ideal setting? is there a way of having a viewport displaying like a vectorgrafic? thanks

Thanks a lot, i'll try both methodes...! it would have been great if it would work like "add-surface"! At the moment we work in the conceptual state and it will be more important later, when we do the "real" design. I added a little screenshot of what we try to do. i made the basic structure with a stacked set of walls than extracted surfaces because i have different image areas inside and outside. But than first trouble! if you extract surfaces from walls the render interfears with the origine wall because surfaces are in place, so you have to make the wall thinner but this allways happens from the center line and one have to be sure that you have extracted both sides before... well that actually reveals a whish for a possibility of an ankerpoint for a wallside...

got a problem... i draw two walls , one straight one round, than extracted two side surfaces to combine it, so i should be able to map one texture over it, which is one big image. i added a file (VW2011)

i try to extract surfaces from walls but VW crashes totally unpredictable. it works for 2 walls and than crashes on the next. or even when activating the tool. This all worked smooth in former Versions. any idea anyone? thanks!

i have imported a pdf page with a floorplan in it and want to use it as a background for some conceptdrawing. Made it layer plane mode but as soon as i go in an isometric view it turns some sort of milky or transparent not so in top (2d) view. Has anybody the same experience or an idea (i know i could work arround by creating an shader out of the PDF page)... but just curious and lazy!!

i have created several elevations with a section viewports. so far so good. but now i want an other viewport with the floorplan (in top/plan view)layout AND the sections lines displayed. but they nevers show! I cannot find the trick..! it is possible only one litte button...

Thanks Robert and Orso, Ahh well so it's not working on copy and paste....one have to type the excisting text again in the field of the dialog box. Its all a bit strange behaviour. I just worked on a file to send to Bugsubmit again, to illustrate the problem but with this file it worked (actually with copy and paste!) and than i saw your post Orso and tried in the file i submitted earlier and this file does not work with copy paste but it does when i type the string in... ok at least a work arround if..!

RW is great! openmindet and modern! you can do it a simple way or if you need or want add some code...love it!

Even with SP2 not working!!!!! its driving me mad!!!! i could do new features which i dont need and my dayly tasks are not working!!!!!! Very angry!!! i payed for an UPdate bthw.!!!

its not working on numbers at all! I submitted it as a bug.....

actually "find-replace text " works here with "normal" words but not dates with a dot in it.... thats bad news if you (me) have to change dates on many viewports which was easy as in VW 2010...grrrr just faced an othe problem... Tried to change a textur on walls works normal than with a duplicatet textur where i changed only the image all the other textures disapeer..like holes in the wall this program is getting VERY messy! i still love it because i know a lot of it. But nowadays it confuses everybody (me again!) with multible planes and other changable parameters to make live harder and i guess is used for 10% of the dayly butter and bread jobs! it feels all ballet and i want squaredance! relyable simple easy with a touch of elegance! Well try to make my renders now somehow!

an other bug?! if i try to find and replace text by copying a date and past it in the find field than replace with an other date it does not find anything..!! mind you i copyed first from the file!!!!

hi Horst, hmmm.... thats strange if i go to add a new recourse / image / "choose file" all PDFs are grey and can not be activated...! i tried screenshots that only have one page... did the same in VW2010 works as ever......
