Several of my students are experiencing crashes when they use the organization dialog box, particularly when they are creating classes, the affected students are all on MacBook Pros and are using Designer 2008 Free Student Edition. Any thoughts or solutions?

Has anyone figured out how to make a renderworks texture that works like an RP something that both accepts light and allows light to pass through? I can get it to glow when I back light it but the light that it glows is just white not the color of the light that hits it, though the light that travels through is still of the same color as the source.

So how exactly do you orient the fixture correctly?

I have the template just the way I want it, but then say I am sent theatre plans that I want to open up and have my template layout applied to that file. So instead of the Layers and Classes that are contained within that file, I essentially create a new file with Layer and Class structure that I have defined. Kind of like when you import an AutoCAD drafting and then shuffle all the various parts away into their own Layers and Classes.

If I have created a template file, with layers and classes set just the way I like them. What is the easiest way to get another VW file into my template. Do I have to open the file and copy and paste everything or is there a simpler way?

When you create a new symbol is it a hybrid symbol? (ie 2d and 3d components) If not that may likely be your problem.

Couple of reasons. One being that I am trying to figure out a good way of including this in my paperwork as well as a graphical representation on my plot so as to avoid confusion on where the gobos are placed and which instruments are getting rotators. Also I was wondering if there was a standard symbol for use on a plot.

Does anyone know if there is a gobo rotator symbol that is included within the symbol libraries and if it does exist does anyone know within which specific library it can be found?

Does anyone out there know how to use the steel palette, does it just produce a non editable section of standard sizes? Or can you use it to say build a steel frame with actual steel members that you don't have to build from scratch? Also I work a lot in theatre does anyone know if VectorWorks is going to include smaller standard sizes in the future (ie 1/2", 3/4", 1" etc...)?

Does the steel palette do anything other than insert an uneditable 2d symbol of pipe and steel? If so how does one use this palette, I have exhausted nearly every resource on spotlight I can get my hands on and can not find anything that tells about this palette, please help.
