  1. Thank you for contacting the TS manager on my behalf. It seems to have been the workspace that was corrupted. I am following up with TS. Thank you everyone for your input - I greatly appreciate it!
  2. I have not heard from tech support regarding this issue - I attempted to uninstall the program, but when I went to add/remove programs, it is not on the list. Does this shine any light on the problem? All the files are present on my C drive, exe, libraries, plug-ins, etc. - the program is there, but I can't uninstall. Is there another way to uninstall cleanly? Thanks. Cat
  3. The crash message is generic "VectorWorks Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The error report is fairly long, I will email tech support the txt file. Thank you. FCD_Cat
  4. I am running VW12.5.0 (upgraded to 12.5.1 in process of attempting to resolve this issue), on an XP PC. Yesterday, opened and closed VW mulitple time throughout the day with no incident. This morning I attempted to open a corrupt file sent to me for a project, and now VW will not open at all. Attempted to start VW from quicktray, from start menu, and from program files folder - with no success. Crash on start up everytime. I do not even get to a point where I can access any menu options. I have an error report .txt file if it is helpful - please tell me where to send it. Mine is the only computer in the office affected at this time. Please help! I use VW daily, and this is a major setback. Thank you, FCD_Cat
  5. Steve, How do I change the path from a mapped drive to the UNC path? I understand the goal, just not where to change the VW preferences. I have the options of saving the absolute path (which references the mapped drive), or saving the path relative to the current document (which will cause the file to not be found if I need to share it with anyone who has not updated to 12.5). I don't find an option to use the UNC path. I do not have the option of renaming any mapped drives. Thank you for your help! Cat
  6. Thanks, Steve! I will test this. Much appreciated, FCD_Cat
  7. Katie, My anti-virus/spyware software are set to low. Could it be related file-size? The file it consistently presents in is 10megs, but there are no really complex objects - just lighting and truss equipment. FCD_Cat
  8. I'm back again. I updated my video driver (ATI FireGL G3100, VW12.5, XP PC) to the most recent available on the ATI website. For one day approx. I did not have a problem with crashing. Today the problem has returned, a week later. Problem presents thus: In specific files, when I attempt to import a symbol from elsewhere (another self-created resource file and/or VW library resource files), VW crashes. There is no error message, no warning, just gone. In a new file, this problem does not present. In some other files (most often smaller), the problem does not present. As I've updated the video driver, what else might I try? Thank you!
  9. Thank you for the assistance. Much appreciated!
  10. I have to admit that I don't think I have consciously updated my video driver. Currently, the driver is ATI FireGL V3100.
  11. VW consistently crashes when I try to import lighting symbols from another file created and saved on my computer. I can scroll through the options, and when I right click on the symbols I want to import, everything dissapears...
  12. I am having a similar problem (XP, VW12.5). I have not established a discernable pattern, but occasionally the program just vanishes. I lose anything not saved, and do not get any program error or message. Just gone. I open again, and maybe 5-10 minutes later it happens again. My actions tend toward importing lighting symbols, creating lighting objects, rotating, typical editing operations. I updated to 12.5 maybe 3-4weeks ago. Thank you for your help!
  13. I have experienced similar difficulties. I uninstalled quicktime and reinstalled from the VW disc. I removed my workspaces, and it started right up. Fortunately, I also had a workspace backup saved elsewhere, so I'm back on track. It seems that the corrupted workspace bug is a significant issue. I have not modfied my workspace, nor updated itunes or quicktime, in quite awhile, so it is a mystery as to the initial cause of corruption.
