  1. The closed checkbox in the OIP was exactly what I needed. Thanks!
  2. Using VW 2024, update 4. Let me start with I went through the split tool video on VW University and the behavior I'm getting is totally different. I have a simple poly shape and am trying to split the shape where I have drawn red lines. I was some how able to get 1 split action to work correctly on the right side but cannot get that action to reproduce. I show in the short screen recording attached that nothing happens on the top of my poly when I use the split tool, and even more odd is on the left side when I use the split tool, it adds a fill at an odd angle in the empty space in the middle of the poly. I found a work around using the split option with the clip tool, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong here. Split Tool.mp4
  3. I really was hoping he would have covered creating a custom from scratch title block rather than selecting one that's close-ish to a desired look, then bastardizing the layout to steal the pieces you need. Is that my only option to creating a completely custom layout? I understand that it's outdated, but the practice in the first vectorworks tutorial I shared was exactly what I was looking for.
  4. Got it, I'll go through that now. Thanks.
  5. Using 2024 update 4. Worked off of this video as it appeared to be the most recent that shows a full build Here's a short screen recording of the final stage I get stuck at Custom TB Missing.mp4
  6. I'm about to pull my hair out here on the last step of creating my title block.. I've created a custom title block and followed Vectorworks' youtube tutorial 5 or 6 times now and get stuck when I go to actually select my style in a new doc, spotlight does not see it. Started by creating a new doc, set layer scale 1:1, then my page size US Arch D. Threw in some shapes and text. Grabbed it all and made a symbol. Then created a new records format and got everything linked there. Opened up the vectoworks>Lib>Def>TB> Standard Title Block.vwx, dropped my title block in and saved it. But, when I open a project, create a sheet and add a title block, I go to change the style and only the 6 default TB's that were in the Standard Title Block project show up in my picker. I've saved multiple in there but none show up for me to select. What step am I missing?
  7. Figured it out. All I needed to do was double click on the TB and a small popup appears giving me the option to enter the title block layout editor or title block manager. Clicked layout and that was is. The other methods kept brining me back to the title block manager where you can't edit those fields it seems.
  8. OK, the only way I have found to fix what I'm working on is to change the style to "convert to unstyled", from there I can click Edit Title Block Layout button and change the text box fields containing job titles. Unfortunately all the other above suggestions just bring me back to the same place of bringing up the title block manager where I can change the names of people listed after the job title, but not the job title itself. I now have to figure out how to edit and save these fields within my saved title block for future use so I'm not doing this every time.
  9. That button is grayed out.. I checked other forums on here to see what the fix was but did not get any results.
  10. Thanks for the responses. I realized my close up screen shots may not have been helpful. Unfortunately the offered advise still doesn't get down to the issue I'm at. I'm not having a problem changing information within a field. I can't get the field name to change in the project data window. I've attached a short screen recording showing the job titles (technical director, audio tech, lighting tech, etc.) that start in my title block. I then open the title block manager to show I have actually renamed those fields. I even changed the name of the video position in the screen recording and show that while the title block manager sees the change, that change is not pushed out to the actual title block. 11. I've got job titles displayed in my title block from a previous document that I have updated in the project data but will not update in the title block. Everything displays correctly in the project data edit window, but those job titles will not update in the actual title block. What step am I missing?
