  1. The vegitation line tool is 2D only, right? I would like to see a way to create a quick 3D "vegitation line" from a polygon (instead of dropping in lots of tree symbols or an image prop).
  2. Thanks, I just looked a little closer myself and noticed that function is called out in the mode description. There is one other difference between the tools; the clip tool leaves polygons intact by completing the edge that is clipped, but the split tool leaves the split edge out of the polygon. EX: Draw a rectangle and split using the "Line Trim Mode" and you will be left with an open three sided polygon instead of a closed four sided polygon. I just wish that in general the tools were more consistent in terms of how they affect the objects.
  3. I wish the Split tool functioned the same as the Clip tool. EX: The clip tool allows the user to select the desired objects to be clipped first and only clips from those objects. As far as I can tell, the Split tool splits all visible objects which means I have to temporarily Group the desired objects in order to separate them from the rest of the drawing.
  4. Yes, that is a great idea. I regularly switch that preference on/off. I found it helpful to have "Vectorworks Preferences" in my right-click menu. Same thing for "Show Other Objects While in Groups" pref.
  5. It would be handy if there was a quick way to create a 3D forest or at least a tree line around a site plan. I imagine something where you could define an area or perimeter with the polygon or polyline tool and then specify the density, height and variety of tree species.
  6. It would be nice if Vectorworks would save changes to tool modes and preferences when closing the program. Example 1: When using the 2D Selection Tool, I almost always turn off the "Enable Connected Walls Mode" as soon as I turn on the program. It seems like the program should be able to save that setting. Example 2: The default preference for the Eyedropper tool is to pick up wall thickness. Again, I turn that function off as soon as I select the tool, but it resets if I restart the program.
