  1. @Bryce Gauthier Like what the solution says above by @inikolova, save the file as a working file and export it from there. The Revit could seems to not like project files. This is no longer the case in Vectorworks version 2025 3.1. It seems that they have fixed the issue! But in the case it still doesn't work just do the solution above.
  2. @pb3214 Sort of. My workaround was to make sure everyone was out of the project file; saved and committed. Then to "save as" the project file as a vectorworks file (.vwx). Then delete the original project file and all working files (.vwxw). Lastly create a new project file from the saved VW file. I think the problem is that as soon as you clear the metadata from a project file, it will try to find the deleted resources on subsequent openings of the project file which bogs down the system. Refreshing and creating a new project file is the only solution I have found.
  3. For the last couple days now my colleagues and I have come into the problem of every time we open the project file our VW starts to run the command before opening "Verifying (Deleting Referenced Resources)..." (see image below). I have purged the file before and after deleted all referenced files from this file to see if those are the culprits. Sadly no luck as even when there are no references to other files it still starts to run this same command which takes 10-30 min depending on the computer. I have even made a working file out of this project file and it opens easily which indicates to me that the problem lies in it being a Project File/using Project Sharing. Thanks for any help.
  4. Yeah I think that's why I made this post. I like worksheets better as they provide more editable data that can be formatted to look different and worksheets even allow for exporting to excel. They are, in my opinion, better when running schedules for the many sheets that our firm has (hardscape, landscape, plants, etc.). And if there was a way to grab object attributes instead of just overall objects then our workflow would benefit a lot from that. Whereas graphic legends are hard to format, you are unable to actually edit any data through it, you can't export to an editable format like excel, and they are limited in their organization and look.
  5. @markdd Yeah this doesn't solve the underlying issue. Because as soon as I change the shapes of the objects the cell image turns into that shape. @Tom W. I think you are right. In cell formatting I have the option to select the "2D Attributes" but it just shows up as white squares. I want the 2D attributes/fill of the object that is unaffected by the shape of the object.
  6. Ahhh so you are basically only looking at the plug-in objects instead of the whole object. I get it. Do you know if we have the ability to change this based on the current data visualization? I know graphic legends can change based on the viewport you are looking at.
  7. @markdd Yes! That is exactly what I'm looking for. What's the workflow? Edit: It is not what I'm looking for. See below for details.
  8. @markddThis is how we are organizing our worksheets and we would like to also grab the image hatch (drawn in blue) to show the different paving options and relate them back to the drawing. The 2nd picture is the drawing we would like to grab the information from. The third picture is the criteria for the database. Is it that I need to grab the part of the object and not just the whole object as the criteria? If I do this will it not report the square footage of the hardscapes/paving since I'm going into a part of the object instead of the whole object? Let me know if that makes sense or not.
  9. Worksheets can already grab the image of objects to display things like a symbol or plant which is incredibly useful for schedules. What would improve the functioning of worksheets even more is the ability to grab the fill attributes/hatches/line types of specific objects similar to how graphic legends grab the fill attributes. I try to grab the images of items (landscape areas, hardscapes, etc...) but it just shows the actual objects not the fills or attributes of the object. I know that I could just use a graphic legend but I've found that they really don't help when making CDs for certain information as they are clunky and unable to be modified easily to look a different way, as well as the information is not able to be edited in the graphic legend like a worksheet is. That's why our firm exclusively uses worksheets for plant schedules, and all other schedules (paving, irrigation, etc.). Graphic legends also don't allow easy stacking of information or editing of information on the fly like a worksheet does unless they are being used for specific objects like doors, gates, etc. I believe this conceptually simple solution would add a lot to the functionality and usefulness of worksheets.
  10. I am trying to get a graphic legend and a landscape area linked up so that I can show ground cover plants in a mass. The problem that I'm having is that no matter what I change any of the new attribute settings for the landscape area to another color it will still only show the beginning plug-in style object color. In the image attached I have changed all 2D fills to red and the graphic legend still only shows the green. The red square is inside of the design layer and the graphic legend is on a sheet layer. Any help is appreciated.
  11. I am working on a project and I need to submit a 3D model to the Architects with the site model and all included. When I export my model as a Revit file and use the new cloud export with any of the revit versions it exports a blank file of 354 KB. This file at the moment is 160 MB. Exporting on my computer produces the correct results but I figured I'd post this here because I was really looking forward to the cloud revit export option. Any help is appreciated.
  12. I am working on a project and I need to submit a 3D model to the Architects with the site model and all included. When I export my model as an IFC 4x3 or 4 as a reference view everything is fine, I get no errors. But when I import said model back into Vectorworks to test how it looks it gives me the attached error. I don't know if this is an import problem or an export problem as I don't want to send it to the Architects yet. I tried the same with exporting and importing as an IFC 2x3 simplified geometry and it worked fine, so my guess is that it's an export problem with the previously mentioned IFC files/versions. Also, with IFC 2x3 it doesn't seem like fences get exported at all. Don't know if that changes in the 4x3 or 4 IFC formats. Any help is appreciated.
