  1. The tool does not work on groups. The idea is that a group is a locked object itself and should not be editable by accident.

You must ungroup first or work within the group. I'd do the latter if all objects you want to reshape are in the group: Doubleclick the group first. You also need to have all affected objects selected. Only selected objects will reshape.

Try it out first on some simple elements, rectangles or similar - you'll soon find out how it works.

  2. Putting the undo to 50 steps is OK, it will use a lot of RAM, but also use the automatic back-up function in the VW preferences, where you can choose how often and how many back up files automatically will be saved in a separate folder.

Never lost a thing since I set it to every 3 minutes.

  3. I'm trying to create a terrain model with the "grid entry method" in AEC, but I cannot get the right number of rows and columns of locus to show on the screen. Mostly I just get a single column with all locus superimposed.

With the same settings I get a different result each time I try.

    Is this a known bug?

  4. I have used a cordless mac mighty mouse for a long time now and couldn't be more satisfied...and it's actually a useful 4 button mouse. Maybe the fourth button (squeeze) is not that great - i have it turned off.

The problem is keeping the ball clean. But this is a simple way with perfect result:

I recommend a very damp cloth with detergent to start with, then a dry one to finish. Let it dry for a few minutes and it's as new.

Otherwise Kensington mice are good too. I used them before Apple understood the need for more than one button.

  5. Thank you Pat! Exactly what I was looking for....

Maybe this would be useful to add to the tool's selection criteria:

    " LAYER - IS - A DESIGN LAYER "

I mainly use wrapped text in sheet layers and therefore would like to exclude them from this modification.

  6. Is there a way to select all text in a document to convert it from wrapped to unwrapped? (To select by class is not possible in this specific case)

This is easily done in Archicad where you "select all" when the text tool is selected in the menu bar. This goes for all tools, not only text - meaning you can select all arcs, all polygones etc.

Is there something like that in VW?

  7. How do I get the dimensions in the 1:1 design layers to show correctly in 1:100 viewports?

Actually just moving a dimension (arch) from one layer to another with a different scale corrupts the dimension.

The slashes will not adjust to the scale.

    Is this a known bug?

  8. Thank's guys for all answers.

I think Bill understands my point. I would actually like to have a repeat last action command not only for the move tool.

Elegant move by Ion! I knew VW had that feature somewhere, but I thought it was lost in evolution....The thing is, I always have the offset duplicates off, but I'm glad you helped me find back to it. It's really useful at times.

It's not really what I'm after though.

The point is to repeat the MOVE, not the duplications.

Imagine you want to duplicate the same object at d(offset distance)=2, then at d=6, then at d=12 , then 16 etc..... No even pattern other than multiples of d.

With d being a simple number, it's easy to insert a new dimension in the floating bar or in the move selection. But if d(x)= 13,567, I guess you will get my point. If you add y and z dimensions to the move - you get some magnitude.

The best way I have found so far is to use the +M. The move distance will be highlited for editing. But instead of typing a new distance, I hit the right arrow key first and then multiply the distance by the number of d-moves I want to do.

But I would prefer to se the object jump away the d- distance every time I hit a repeat key. If I hit six times it moves 6xd etc.

    Wouldn't it be nice?

  9. That's the duplicate array command, but that is not really my question.

I want to repeat the latest move command.

Now I select an object, press +M, insert the distance+enter. The object moves.

I can repeat the action by pressing +M+enter again and again, but there should be a quicker way.... If the distance is a complicated number I don't want to multily it in the move box.

Some applications have a +Y command that does just this.
