  1. "Rotating the drawing plane" comes up every now and then.

Lots of friendly, well meaning guys make their best to help, but...please, don't waste precious time defending the existing VW application and explain ways to get around the fence....help us tear it down! If so many people, including myself, see this as a problem and would benefit a lot from such an easily handled rotate function - help us get it - claim it, you too!

To start with, NNA could add an editable orthogonal dimension information in the info palette - showing the real hight and width of a rotaded rectangle. That would help.

  2. Thank you all for helping out.

I get the drawings from the same person and I have checked them in AutoCad and they align just fine there, but once imported in VW it's a mess. So they must have a original setting with 0/0/0 just right. I expected that 0/0 in the dwg file should also become 0/0 in my VW file - and that each additional file imported would ligne up automatically with the previous ones - but no...

I could line them up and reorient them to suit me myself - no problem - but once I've done my work on the plans, I must send my part back - then my files will not be aligned with their plans any more - and I get the blame for not beeing compatible with the dwg format. Of course there are ways around that problem too, but there must be a RIGHT way to do this, some setting when the dwg file is imported or ...well?

  3. ...not just a circle - it may be a rectangle, ellipse or a rounded rectangle as well - but not a polygone or group ... yet, hopefully.

    - then the cursor switches to a cross within the object area.

    /B

  4. Does anyone know how to get imported dwg files to get aligned properly? AutoCad uses an insertion point to determine the position of every model file in the project. When I import four different files they don't match and 0/0 is at a different location in all of them.

  6. thanks both

I do import layers as classes - and renaming something like 120 classes...., all used ones?

If I just could find out how to group imported classes so the stay separated from my own I would be on the runway again.

Would be useful too if classes could be locked

so that purging would not delete them. Also - when opening the "class" window I would like to have a column showing how many objects each class contains, at least showing which ones are emty.

  7. I'm glad to find out there really is such a problem with rotating the whole drawing in 2D. I thought I was extreemely stupid when I didn't find out how to do it. Obviously it must be a more complicated thing to rotate in 3D - therefore rotating in 2D just had to be there - somwhere! I've spent days and days!!!

Hey NNA!---get this simple problem fixed - now! ...please!!!!!

    This feature must be basic.

  8. VW 11.0.1:

In AutoCad "-" is used as a fillout in the layer(class) nameing. In VW "-" is used to organize classes in sub-menus(page 3-19). If more than two "-" are used in VW, you cannot move objects to these classes. These classes seem to be invalid when interchanging objects.

Is there a way to change the dash to another, preferrably unvisible keystroke, like "new line"?
