  1. Just in case someone follows or finds this post, I just learned from our local VectorWorks distributor that this was indeed a bug and that it has been fixed in the 2024 Version, which will be available next week in our area. Therefore 2 thumbs-up to the developers, thanks!
  2. Hello everyone I wanted to create a set of layouts with elevations & views showing different options for materials, using data visualization to override the original wall textures. I also wanted to do those using RenderWorks, so I get a more realistic feel for the materials. Unless I am missing something, this works for perspectives and for modelled solids but not for walls in elevations (see test in attached architecture masterpiece). An ok-ish workaround would be the shaded option, showing materials, colors and shadows but not edges. Still the texture mapping would be missing though and the lighting is somewhat different, right? Any ideas if this can be achieved? Thanks!
  3. Hi Tom, I'm sorry, I forgot to explain the screenshot... the red dashed lines are what we would like to display. Even if it looks like a nosed step it would represent the underlaying construction of the stair. The floor plan is the only view where the construction doesn't show, since in both 3D and section views we get the separation between the concrete slab and the flooring. Thank you for your interest in the topic, is it clear now?
  4. Hello everyone Using the staircase tool we built a staircase which is basically exactly like we want it, except we can't show the material difference between the concrete structure and the flooring / cladding in the floor plan view. Elsewhere is fine: 3D, section, no problem. It could be somewhat misleading since it looks like a nose step, but we would like nonetheless to be able to show it in certain drawings. In the graphic attributes tab it almost seems possible, but we can't quite find it. Is it even possible? Any ideas are appreciated, thanks! 230524_Staircase.vwx
  5. Hello everyone, So while we are working on a file happens from time to time, that all of a sudden most of the content disappears from the screen. After the initial shock and while trying to zoom in and out, the content magically reappears until the zoom is "idle" (maybe static is a better word?) and the content disappears again... It seems as if the final rendered image of the screen after zooming is failed or aborted. So far no solution is found, we just need to save and restart VectorWorks. We had it in a couple different projects and with both versions 2022 and 2023, always to the newest Service Pack. Also both with PC (Windows 10) and Mac computers, always updated both OS and graphic card drivers. Is this a known issue? Does anybody have a solution for this? Thanks!
  6. I am experiencing slowdowns when loading the web site of the VectorWorks University in the lasts months, to the point where I almost always get a time-out error and cannot use this source anymore. And that is a pity, there is a lot of good material there to expand and clarify your skills... I tried all the combinations that I can think of regarding systems (PC/Mac), web browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Brave) and location (office/at home)... which means we would appreciate any tips from the community 🙂 Is anyone experiencing such slowdowns too? Thanks!
  7. I started working on a window which is to be placed in the insulation layer between two brick walls. In the 2D it is displayed as I have defined in the settings, however in the 3D view you still can see the edge of the insulation in blue. Did I miss something in the settings or is this some bug?
