I have noticed that archicad now has an options manager with a "archicad residential" version. Revit also has an options manager, but I believe it has been part of the program for a couple of versions now. This is something I could use a lot of. I do residential design for a number of contractors, and I typically will use one floor plan and several elevation styles or modify the floor plan in some way. Does anyone else see a need for this type of "options manager" or how do users deal with this type of thing with vectorworks. There may be a way to do this now. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Im starting to get swamped with work, so any ideas that will speed up my production will be greatly appreciated Thanks again Rpb VWA 11.5

It was hard enough to do building cross sections as it were. Now we have more work to get rid of these extra lines. I have also noticed that the program crashes 2 to 3 times during the day. I am paying attention now to what I was doing and when so maybe I can spot the cause or avoid it one. Using Windows XP VWA & Renderworks

Since upgrading to 11.5 I get some strange things happening when I cut a 3d section, mostly wall triangulation. Each solid wall now have several segments.The segments start from a corner, window or other opening in a wall. This will occur on all wall types but not on all walls. This did not happen with 11.0.1 Has anyone else seen this behavior? Using Windows XP VWA & Renderworks

I have noticed it will not let you ungroup a roof after using the create roof command. This is a must when creating complex roof systems.If you use the edit group command, all the roof faces are locked. ??

Thanks CipesDesign, I may try to use the eyedropper tool more. I mainly use the attributes more at the linework stage of construction docs. Adding appropiate lineweights and such so the drawings graphically look good and meet my standards. I guess my point here is that standard 2d drawing tools would be easier to use if the attributes showed up in the O.I.P. When one clicks on a line or retangle or whatever, there is not much info on the O.I.P. anyway. The attributes of that line or whatever wouldn't take up much space on the O.I.P.I agree in part with your response that some items can be controled with classes. If there is an easier way I way, I'm open to new ideas Thanks again

It sure would be nice if the attributes of an "object" would show up in the "object info palette". I dont know about anyone else, but this seems like it could be a timesaver. Click on any object and all the info for that object is displayed. I get so tired of having to keep the attributes palette nearby.

I would like to see a project navigator or project browser similar to Revit's. This way all mod-layers, sheet layers and saved views could be accessed from the same menu. I still use saved views while producing construction documents.

I will agree. I have had crashes along with some other problems already mentioned here on this tech board. I cant remember any problems with VWA 10 or 10.5 It makes our jobs at times more trouble than it should be. Clients dont understand or dont care to hear about software problems when they want construction documents.

Has anyone noticed that the rendering quality is not as good on the sheet layer (veiwport) as it is on the design layer. This is true with all the rendering modes I have used so far. I most often use final quality renderworks and as mentioned the design layer produces a very nice rendering. I set up a veiwport and when it renders, the quality is not as good. Such as details that show up on the design layer are not on the sheet layer with the viewport. I have checked the OIP to adjust possible settings. I hope this is something I am just not seeing or not setting correctly. The viewport renderings also take far longer to render than design layer. The design layer will render in rather quickly while the sheet layer takes 3 to 4 times as long. Thanks in advance for any help. Using windows XP , VWA 11 with 640 mb ram
