    how do i define the fields i need? in the data tab there are specific fields..and i need others....

    and also - after entering this data will it automatically go into the report? or should i define fields again....?

    I created a symbol's library of different furnitures. Each item should have a catalog number, dimentions of x,y,z, and other notes.

    The goal is to create a report that can sum the quantity of symbols/furnitures, and also show the other data.

    I tried first using the create report, which do the summing perfectly. How and where do i enter the other data? and how do i make a report that contains all of it?

    Is there a manual for reports?? do i need to know vectorscript?

    Hi George,

    Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try.

    Ofcourse I back up my files on separate external disk (2 of them actually...and again before restore..) and this "vanishing" files situation occurs only with VW files. So what you suggested make sense.

    PC, xp pro, VW12.

    Whenever I restore the system all VW files created between the restoration date and the restore point - disappear. I guess it has something with "documents and files" or the registry....?

    The VW is installed on C but the files are saved on different partition.

    How to avoid this ?

    VW 12.5.2.5505 arch+rw

    windows xp sp2

    main working station is also the network server, 3 stations connected to this station. 50% of disk is free.

    The specific file was "saved as" before amendments and several "saves" entered while working, beside of the automatic saving+ separate back up folder.

    During the past few days it happened again with different files as well.

    I've read all preview posts regarding crashes but this time it's too weird....

    We work on PC's, network saving, individual dondels. VW architect 12.5.2.

    After few hours of hard work, updating a file, with auto saving to seperate backup file, we wanted to print to PDF file. The program crashed. The file disappeared and so is the backup folder. Gone. like it never existed !!!

    Any ideas??

    I'm trying to import a dxf/dwg file created on arc+.

    The imported file is out of any scale, no matter what import definitions i choose. I also tried different export features on acr+ - but nothing helps.

    Any suggestions?

    After creating several cameras:

    1. Is there a menu to view and select the existing cameras from a list, or it's just picking up each camera?

    2. Is there a batch rendering for all the cameras? or is it just like saved view that you select each camera/view and define it as a batch render seperately?

    extruded polygons don't map textures

    Hi,

    This is a problem i have since 11.5. Sometimes extruded polygons can not be texturized. I couldn't find much consistency because sometimes it works and sometimes not. I always check that the polygon is a closed shape, i also tried to convert to nurbs - but nothing helps.

    The strange thing is that actually the texture does apply on the object info, but when i enter the mapping mode it's like nothing is in there, and the preview shows the basic fill color.

    Any suggestions?

    I have some questions from different areas:

    1. Door tool: When you add a bars, either on the door itself or on the side lihgts - how do you control the exact position of the bar? (it was possible in previous version..)

    And also - can you add a bar to the toplight and control its position?

    2. Wall tool - when you create a new wall style and you use a pattern the color fills are black and white only. Is there a way to control the colors?

    3. Worksheets: Is there a simple one-stop summation for column or row, same as in Excel?

    Hi Alan,

    I appreciate your reply.

    I totaly agree with your "designing" review that includes trusses - however, some of my clients requests those systems, some of them have low budgets..... anyway ,it's required.

    It makes no sence to ask for someone to creat a plugin that is already exists.

    It would make more sence if NNA will come forward and at least make it possible to purchase it seperately. But.....for now....they didn't even reply to this topic.

    Well, as you can see i use the truss as a structural feature and not specifically for lighting.

    Thare is nothing for me to use in the Spotlight other then the truss, and I don't think it's worth it! I did made a fixed sizes truss symbols that i use, so I don't need to rebuild it every time. However - I do believe that NNA should reconcider either releasing this feature or selling it seperately.

    My work, as well as others, combines architecture and theater.

    NNA should realize that these days, truss has more uses other then lighting !!!

    I know this issue was submitted here before.....nevertheless, I thought it's time to bring it up again.

    I am a designer, working on VW11.5+render. I'm familiar with VW since version 5 !!!!

    I design trade show spaces, exhibitions etc., and therefore using constantly trusses. I know there is a wonderfull truss plugin in Spotlight. Unfortunately it's not available for other modules. It's so frustrating! everytime I need to draw again this complexed fixtures. And although I created some fixed size symbols.....It's not as good. And also, it's very hard to create complex spaces.....

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

    make it available !!!

    Sometimes they respond smoothly, as they suppose to, and sometimes they don't. I couldn't find any systematic about it. It can stop working or re-work with no reason. Sometimes all not working, sometimes just a few. I checked all the layers and classes - nothing changed.
