The edit handles on objects are suddenly missing. I can move objects but can no longer lengthen or shorten, etc. What happened? Thanks!

Yes it was active but it was overriding the change so I drew in another class and changed the attributes and checked (use at Creation) and voila, the new size appeared. Your "class" suggestion sent down the right path. Thanks! Dean

I can't seem to edit the size of the arrows at the end of a line. I tried editing it but it still comes up at the same size (too large). Vectorworks 2009 SP4 Mac OSX 10.5.

SORRY,sheet layer vs. design layer (switched from Autocad and happier ;-)). When dragged from the resource browser in the design layer, the symbol is to small (just a dot, unless I really zoom in). It is the switch symbol for a light from the resource browser. The symbol is closer to the correct size when inserted on the sheet layer, not in the viewport.

The objects/symbols in the resource browser are way too small. How do I correct this. I see that in paper space it is at the correct scale but not in model space. I tried editing the symbol by changing the scale but it changes the scale of the entire drawing. Thanks! I have Vectorworks Architect 2009 SP4, Mac OSX 10.5

I have a new Macbook Pro, Leopard 10.5 and I tried installing Vectorworks 2009. Everything goes fine until I try to open the program. It tells me that the "factory default preferences in Vectorworks Preferences cannot be found. Please reinstall." I reinstalled from a dvd and get the same message. What's up?

In the middle of working on a project today, I noticed that in the design layer, some objects are grey and I cannot modify them. I am in the same layer and class but I cannot figure out why just some of these appear to be this way. When I go into my viewport and try to modify them in the design layer, it's fine. What's up? Why can I modify in the Viewport but not in the Design Layer? I am using Vectorworks 2009, Windows XP Media Edition, Toshiba Satellite Laptop

Any more suggestions, or do I just have to stick with 2008 until I get a new laptop?

I have tried both. I found the first option works for 2008 but it doesn't for 2009. I tried starting in the safe mode but it still happened. Don't understand the part about running the Onyx or Cocktail disk utility. Is this a downloadable program? Thanks!

Doesn't help me. I didn't think you could do a safe mode on a mac.

This morning when I tried to open a 2009 file, I got this message. I reinstalled twice and got a file to open once, then I got this message this again: "Vectorworks xml librairies failed to load. Please reinstall Vectorworks." What's going on? How do I get past this? Help!

They are updated. Computer guy says it's the video card. It worked fine for awhile.

I installed 2009 after receiving a new serial number for Windows after I installed it on my mac. Now the software on windows xp media center 2002 SP3 1.83 ghz keeps crashing after I complete about three commands. I have 1.5gs of Ram. Is the RAM the problem here or is it something else. It seemed to work fine for awhile and it has gotten worse. Thanks!

I have 2009 installed on my Windows laptop (XP Home) and am finding when I render a camera shot and try to create a viewport for printing, the entire program crashes. Could this be a Quicktime issue?

Well, that explains it. I did try to download the landru curtain but was unsuccessful. Will it play with 2009? I may be doing the wrong steps to insert it into the file. Any suggestions?

I can't even draw a curtain object. I can't activate the curtain plug in. I've tried copying, starting a blank document but nothing seems to work.

Tried updating plug ins but that didn't work. I don't know why I can't load the plug ins to the file either.

I try to add plug ins as a favorite folder but when I open the folder, the symbols are all grey and I can't select them. And to answer your question, yes, the file was created in an older version of vectorworks and updated to 2009. Couldn't post the file.

No go, it won't change. It seems locked in every aspect. Also, when I try to load plug ins, the symbols are all grey and I can't do anything with them. What's the deal?

FYI, the plug in is a curtain.
