  1. For those of us who've been using computers since the dawn of the digital age the iPad is just another brilliant leap ...

but for those just beginning the journey ... the iPad is a logical extension of the iPhone's mobile paradigm.

It is as compelling for the next generation as driving the original 1950 Porsche must've been to all those 'motorists' accustomed to man-handling the standard production coupe'.

It sparks the imagination ...brings one closer to the feel of the information...and since it has no moving parts or connections ... it takes flight.

I can't wait to get one for my grandson ... just to see what he can do with it.

All application developers, authors, and publishers will need to meet this challenge head-on or be stuck at a drive-in theater watching re-runs.

  2. A combination of approaches may work for you :

PIO WallTool for the Bot&Top Plates ( Base & Head alignments ),

Hybrid Symbol for the Inclined Wall.

Associate Doors with the BasePlate wall ( height as required ).

Not perfect but usually good enough for government work ; )

  3. A few proven Ways to avoid the PDF conversions problems:

    1) Post your project PDF files to a secure server ( send only links ) so that changing the submittals is both organized and universal.

    2) Ask all recipients to declare their hardware/ OS/PDF versions, then format sheets as required.

    3) Don't be dismayed that what seems to work fine on your iMac refuses to perform on older less flexible systems, afterall ...OSX is native PDF.

  4. The Drawing Border has the opiton for selecting the TitleBlock type> TB uses a TB Symbol located via the Resource Browser >Drawing Border Components.

The TB Symbol has an Attached Record.

I insert the Drawing Border with TitleBlock on a DesignLayer and then link to it via VP.

So removing the Layer Link via VP>OIP is the easiest solution.

Did you create the TB on DL or VP ?

  5. I'm in complete agreement with Kool Aid .. just because you can view it doesn't necessarily mean that it is 'measurable' from that plane of view.

In the example given the assumption is that the ramp is parallel to the SideView.

If that ramp was turned and pitched like.. say.. a parking garage spiral, no amount of 2D angular fiddling would get it right.

The lesson here is that you need to be especially mindful when applying 2D Tools to 3D Objects.

Hence the applicability of the WorkingPlane Tool to set the plane for measurements between 3D oriented objects nonparallel to the standard Top-Front-Side viewing planes.
