I have the same problem, with vectorworks 2020. I had an educational version installed before lockdown. I then had to remove it and install my office's full version to work from home during lockdown. Now I am back in the office and have re-installed the most recent educational version of vectorworks 2020 and I can't open any of my educational files. I must open them, it is important. I teach at university and the year starts in 2 weeks.
