  1. I have recently upgraded from Apple OS 10.4.11 to OS 10.5 and i am running Vectorworks 10.5 also. Since upgrading i cannot see the details of any of my architectural drawings as there appears to be a hatch on each drawing. The drawing prints ok, but i cannot work on it due to the hatch like background.

This appears to be directly related to Mac OS 10.5. Any suggestions please.

  2. Lately my VW has crashed while importing dwg drawings from an Autocad user. On other occassions it has crashed while trying to pring drawings.

Any suggestions on what to do please?

  3. I have just installed Mac OS 10.3.5 into my G5 and when i do a duplicate array using option+command+D [alt+apple+D] which always worked since Mini Cad, i loose the Dock and when i repeat the op[eration it comes back?

How do i carry out multiple arrays?

  4. When i click and open a Vectorworks 10.5 drawing it opens as a viewer, which i cannot work on, until i open the VW programme and then click the drawing. Is there a way to open a drawing that automatically allows me to work on it.

Also when i open the VW programme i always get a blank sheet, which ii don't always want. Can i get rid of this or change the format?

  5. When i try to export a VW10.5 drawing in JPEG

format, i get a message stating 'Could not export image due to lack of memory",

Is this the VW memory, which i have tried to increase but cannot, or some other programme's memory?

  6. Katie.

    Thank you for your response.

    I have done what you suggested on a number of occassions and what i get after selecting the 800 is;

    Copies/pages

    layout

    output options

    error handling

    peper feed

    Vectorworks

    summary

It is the finishes i need to 'rotate' the dwg,

  7. The drawings come out correct. The best way to explain my predicament is, if i had a 36' wide plotter i would not have a problem as the drawing width of an A1 landscape 33", would be able to plot correctly due to the plotters width.

My plotter is 24" model, so i get a plot 24" wide, thus losing 9" off the longest dimension of the drawing every time no matter what sheet orientation i select.

I always end up with a completed drawing size of 24"x24" [Mad]

  8. 24" plotter and i have the latest driver installed. i will have to fool around with it for awhile then i think i am going to have to get tough with HP and Apple as i am becoming very frustrated.

i originally purchased hp 500 and was told that there was drivers for it to run on OSX, then i had to send the machine back and was forced to buy the 800ps, which i don't really need. So you can see where i am coming from?

I know it is St. Stephens day but i am bored and decided to try your suggestion. Unfortunetly i get the same result. It all looked good when i customised my sheet as you suggested and even in preview it was correct, but the sheet is still coming out in partial portrait and still giving me a drawing size of 24"x24"

    [Confused]

I think you are right. It appears to me that what is missing is "rotate". When i set my drawing sheet to "one page" in 'set print area' and select A1 in 'page set up' along with "horizontal" , in preview i get a grey outline in portrait with the drawing in landscape, which suggests that the HP Driver sees it in portrait and that

the drawing should be rotated some how, but i cannot locate the check box for rotate. [Confused]

  11. In preview I see exactly what i would like the printer to print, but for some unknown reason to me, preview will also show 4 sheets, one with the drawing and the other 3 as blank.

My real problem is that i am not fully au fait with the system i have and it is probably a simple solution.
