  1. I am a long time Vectorworks user, using VW 2020 on my ancient 21.5 inch 2011 iMac - 2.5GHZ core I5, 8GB Ram, 512 BG OMC SSD, AMD Raedon with512 MB video, High Sierra. Most of my work is residential or light commercial, and lots of it is in 2D, but I do generate some 3D site models, massing studies, sun studies, limited presentation models, and the like. As long as I just use patterns and colors in my models, things move along OK. Obviously, once I start adding a lot of detail, textures and finishes, and rendering my models - things slow to a crawl. So, for a lot of reasons, I need to upgrade to a new iMac. I am still sorting out whether to go 21.5 inch or 27 inch. I don't want to go overboard, but I want a machine that is capable and will last for a while. I don't think my work calls for an iMac pro. I am 65, so I figure I will be working for 5 more years. If I stay with 21.5 inch, I can go with a 3.0 GHZ 6 core 8th generation I5, or a 3.2 GHZ6 core 8th generation I7, with hyper-threading, and a Readon Pro 560X 4 GB graphics card. If I step up to a 27 inch, I can get a 3.7 GHZ 9th generation 6 core I5, or go all the way and get the 3.6 GHZ 8 core 9th generation I9. The 27 inch machines come with a Raedon Pro 580X with 8GB video. I will get plenty of RAM and an SSD, on any configuration. Any of these machines would do all my other work just fine. Thoughts?
