  1. This is likely something simple that I am missing as I am still learning the ConnectCAD workflow. I am putting together a schematic for a distributed audio system and in many cases have multi-channel amplifiers that share a input signal across multiple channels. Is there a simple way to do this with the connect tool so that the paperwork is correct? Obviously, I could draw lines to connect multiple input channels to this signal line which would communicate the needs to the installer, but wouldn't create accurate paperwork. Similarly, there are some instances where we have two speakers on an output channel of an amplifier with two homeruns that are either connected to a terminal block or are both connected to the output terminal at the amplifier. Besides adding extra sockets to the device in the schematic, is there a more slick way to accomplish this? Screenshots attached of an example of both input and output pairing in my current project. Thanks so much for any assistance! www.craftlighting.co
  2. Hey Conrad, I worked with tech support on this and actually sorted out what my issue was based on your video you sent. I was using the "update rack elevation" command while I was in the 'Rack Elevation' layer. When I apply the command from the 'Schematic" layer, it works like a charm. I just wanted to let you know in case you run into something like that in the future. As a new CC user, I hope that as VWX continues to develop and improve ConnectCAD that the documentation and training materials for it improve along with it. Thanks again for the help. I am sure I'll have further questions to bother you with as I integrate CC into our company template file and project workflow. Cheers,
  3. Sounds good. I'll give that a try. Thanks for the help Conrad.
  4. Hmmm, that's no good. Any further suggestions to try here?
  5. Got it! I've been using VWX since 08' and somehow have only just now run into that issue. Got it! Knew it was something stupid! 🙂
  6. Attached. Thanks so much for the help Conrad. ConnectCAD Test.vwx
  7. Hey Conrad, I am having trouble with the "Update Rack Elevation" command. No objects are populating on the 'rack elevation' layer from my schematic layer. All schematic devices are physical, not virtual. Working from the ConnectCAD template file. Anything that I might be missing? Thanks,
  8. Update: It seems that units are the issue! I've gotten the snapgrid set to 1/4" which seems to have solved the sizing issue. With this in mind, is the recommended workflow for using ConnectCAD to use a seperate file for schematics/rack work vs. general layouts/elevations for a project? Wisdom regarding the nested tool sets is certainly still welcome. Thanks!
  9. My firm recently upgraded from 2018 to 2020, purchased ConnectCAD and I am in the process of learning the ropes and integrating in into our workflow. I am working from the ConnectCAD template file on a mac running 10.14.6. When I create a new device on the schematic layer using the device builder tool, it imports the specified device but the objects that it inserts are FAR too small and all of the socket+data fields are bunched on top of each other. Obviously I can edit this device, resize and re-arrange all of the sockets manually but I am SURE that isn't how this works. I haven't touched layer scale, it's still 1:1. I feel like there is something stupid that I am missing. Additionally, my machine seems to be having an issue handling the nested toolsets in the connectCAD workspace or any custom ones. For instance, if I nest all of the socket tools, it only allows me to use the parent tool and gives no dropdown to select the children. Not sure what the issue is here either. Thanks for the wisdom!
