  1. rl, this might work. draw a polygon and fill with a static hatch from the tool menu. the static hatch is a group of lines that you can convert to 3d polys. now you can rotate and render. if you need a backround you can convert the original polygon to a 3d poly with a solid color or even a texture. you may have to nudge the hatch to float above the filled polygon or extrude rather than convert to get the results that work for you.
  2. to use see thru color fills try putting your tree symbols on a seperate layer. set the transfer mode of that layer to overlay. some great graphics can result but test your print drivers capability to print transparent fills. i had trouble with adobe postscript printers.

  5. when i open the edit mapping dialog box there are only three options in the map type menu. sphere, cylinder, and plane, but no perimeter. i have reinstalled vw 9.5.1 with renderworks with no luck. i am useing mac os 9.1. does anyone have a suggestion for getting perimeter mapping to work again?
