  1. Get3DCntr takes top height-bottom height and uses the result as center. False. Ex: Draw a wall with 16' top z, 4' bottom z, returns 12' as center. 10' should be center. 10'+6'=16', 10'-6'=4'. Is there a work around? Much to my dismay WallHeight returns top of wall at top left and top right corners. How do you obtain the bottom z of a wall in VS without resorting to object info and manually entering the info? Help! rl
  2. Thanks, that worked! Could find no info anywhere. rl
  3. How do you cut and paste from within the VW script editor? Also, how do you save or print from same? Running VW 9.5.2 on Win2k. rl
  4. I am just starting out.Does any one have a simple script that will get wall height, width, etc. once a wall is drawn? Same for roofs?I know there are Procedures in VW but how do you do it? Do you click on wall first or have VW script get that info. Test for wall? I am working on exterior trim scripts and need to know how to go about it. Thanks rl
  5. How do you unlock PIO scripts. Even if you make a duplicate says it's locked and can't be edited. What gives? How do I modify the copy to suite my needs?
  6. Alan, You create a cased opening at design time when you use the door tool. The object info (ctrl+I) palette will pop up and you choose from the types under the config settings section. You have a myriad of options. You can also edit these at any time by right clicking on the door or object by selecting properties option will bring up the object info palette. As far as a defined list of such, I do not believe it exists. Try to think in terms of object types. Cased opening=door. Archway=door.Windows you have great flexibility in design as well. I am a builder and do drawings as well. I hope this helps,rl
  7. Katie, Thanks for your response to my wish list. Is it possible to use existing hatch patterns and save them as an image to use them as textures as you suggest? You have so many needed hatches that would be of great help to use on floors, walls, roofs, etc. Why do users have to reinvent the wheel? I have not yet tried the notes database so I must apologize. I have had no luck in trying to assign shortcut keys for the rendering options even by following the manual. How do you get the keys to assign with the cntrl or shift or alt keys? Thanks,rl
  8. cesar, you have two(2) elevations per layer.1. bottom z2. delta zIf your slab is 12" thick and bottom Z is 0, then bottom elevation of your wall is 12". Wall height of 9'-10 1/2" + 12" (10-10 1/2")will equal top of wall. In order to set your foundation 3' below ground level (0) elevation, you must enter it with a - sign before the number. Ex: -3' for bottom z. If you want to have one foot of foundation above ground level (0), then you need to make your foundation wall 4' tall (delta z). Or draw a floor at 1' thick and sit on top of foundation wall.I hope this helpsrl
  9. I wish VW Architect would do the following: 1. Ability to use hatch patterns on walls in 3D2. Have dimensions auto update as walls are moved3. Ability for a menu or options at design time, to draw gable end returns of various types.4. Ability to have menu or options at design time to draw corner boards as well as fascia and shadow.5. Auto creation of such items when doing cross sections after doing a 3d section cut.6. ability to store notes so as to reuse them later7. shortcut keys to rendering menu8. interior mouldings objects or symbols. Crown moulding, chair rail, base, etc., with ability to place at any given height in a room or per wall.9. when drawing ext. decks, options for auto placement of decking with spaceing between decking, color and texture choices.10. a book or how to's on VectorScript besides whats at Web Site. How to choose walls to apply trim. How to choose roof fascia edge to draw fascia, etc.thanks,rl
  10. Has anyone created a script for a menu to draw fascia, shadow boards and corner boards? How would I go about doing it myself using Vectorscript. Any help is greatly Appreciated. Thanks,rl
