I tend to use a lower lit fog setting, in the 20% world. When there is too much fog, the light dissipates.

What don't you like about your rendering? I'm not a fan of using the point light for this type of work. A spotlight is more like the actual sun.

Thanks for you reply. I'm not sure I understand but will try it out. It seems rather strange now after exploring Lumion that the heliodon tool or other light object does not produce a visible sun or light source.
The Heliodon is generally for showing time of day and location and show studies. The Vectorworks Light Object, Directional Mode may give you wahat you want, but I prefer the Spotlight option for that tool. Also, the Directional Light does not allow for lit fog.

Yes, you definitely need Lit Fog. That mean turning it on for the 'sun' light and making sure you have fog in the Renderworks Background.

To me the HDRI backgrounds in general provide more ambient than direct lighting.
To get the look that you seem to after, I would likely use a number of different elements. A background. Realistic trees, either Image props, VBvisual trees, the foliage tool, or a combination. For the sun, I would insert a disc object with a polished metal texture somewhere int he distance. I would like that with VWX light objects (spotlight) and add a really bright VWX light object (spotlight) to be the source coming from your disc object.
Ideally most of the sun (the disc) would be muted by the foliage. If not, I would use Depth of Field and Blume to throw that element out of focus.

In my template file, I have several Design Layers always ready. The 'bottom' layer I call trace and I use that layer to import files I need to, well, trace. I this instance I would go to File>Import>Import PDF.
I do not see anything in your PDF that I can scale, so first I might hand draw something in there that I could scale. Fir this reason, I always suggest adding a Scale Bar object in any Sheet Layer Viewport I might export.
Once you have something you know the dimension of in your file (you may have a known dimension, possibly the bottom boundary of the site), select the PDF and go to Modify>Scale Objects. Select the second option to scale by distance. Click on the Dimension line next to the Current Distance data field and that will return you to the PDF. Draw a line across the distance you know, release and that will return you to the Dialog. Enter the proper distance in the second stat field, make sure that "entire drawing" is not checked and click OK.
There are some occasions where you will want to scale all, but be aware of the option.
Then on a new design layer above the Trace Layer begin to work. I generally work in the "Show/Snap" others mode. How you structure your Design Layers will depend on your workflow, I work in entertainment, so I have each now file with Scenic, lighting, sound layers and add as needed to isolate objects.
If the PDF was a vector based document, you can "ungroup" and access some of the internal line work, that can be very valuable.
In any event, this should get you started.

I've also seen that video. perfect for Marquee signage as an example. Can't believe I don't have a bookmark or notes.

Kevin Allen - Is dd mean "drag & drop"? I am not sure what you mean. I see the Import command in my workspace just not an option to import PDFs specifically. Based on Jim W's response it sounds as if that feature isn't part of the functionality I have with my current VW licensed feature set.
DD is a typo for 'add'

The "portal' option is in the texture definition, Click the "Indirect Lighting Options" button and check "Portal' to allow lighting/indirect lighting/environmental lighting to pass through the glass texture.

That texture should be a glass with 'portal' checked.

Manage Saved Sets in Organization, more like everything else
in Wishlist - Feature and Content Requests

So, I think this boils down to two enhancement requests for the publish command.
1. There should a "Batch" option (much like the Batch render command) to simultaneously publish several different sets. This milky means another pane in the Publish dialog to select 'saved sets' the than just sheets and saved views.
2. When creating a new Sheet Layer or a new Saved View there should be an opportunity to add those sheets/views to saved publication sets. Currently the sets have to all be redefined to add content. This would be similar to creating new design layers or classes and adding to (or excluding from) exiting SLVPs. This new functionality should also be accessible via the Organization dialog?
Do these need to be two different enhancement requests?
